New Adventure :)

So here it is. My first Blog post! I've recently been able to let the "cat-out-of-the-bag" that I was hired by Appalachia Service Project (ASP) as a summer "staffer". I will be spending my time working with families in the heart Appalachia, and coordinating their home repair projects with the various volunteer groups that come down for one week at a time.

I've been on ASP four times previous to receiving this job. With my home church, Westwood United Methodist, I've always had the best time of my life, learned many life lessons, and always left the week with a new appreciation for life. The families of the homes I've spent time working with always have a different story about life, and each one is always different. I can only imagine the impact an entire summer of bonding with the people of Appalachia will have on my life. I'm very exicted to embark on this new journey for my faith and myself as a person.

I will post as much as I can! I know I'll be busy, but I want to be able to document my summer and share my experiences with my lovely family and friends back home (that's you!).

If you don't know much about ASP, please visit www.asphome.org!

Thank you to everyone who as helped me through the process of applying for this job with ASP, and especially thanks to those who encouraged me to do it. I'm ready for the adventure.
